Asset Integrity Services
RSC Group provides asset integrity services for oil and gas operations, mining facilities and industrial plants across Africa.
By combining inspection support with corrosion management, we help clients establish the condition of their assets and identify where intervention is required. Risk-based inspection also allows maintenance resources to be directed towards equipment with the greatest operational significance.
Building a clear picture of asset condition
Across pipelines, tanks and process equipment, corrosion can develop in exposed areas or remain concealed beneath insulation and protective coatings.
An asset integrity management programme brings the available condition information into a structured process. Inspection results are reviewed in the context of the asset’s operating duty and maintenance history. Its required service life also informs the recommended response.
Through this process, RSC helps clients identify deterioration that could affect containment or equipment performance. The findings provide a basis for prioritising inspection work and developing maintenance scopes.
Our asset integrity capabilities
Supporting both oil and gas asset integrity and industrial asset integrity programmes, RSC works across operating facilities and planned shutdowns.
Capabilities include:
- Visual inspection support
- Corrosion surveys
- Risk-based inspection
- Corrosion under insulation assessments
- Coating condition surveys
- NDT coordination
- Tank and pipeline integrity support
- Thickness measurement support
- Maintenance planning
- Repair recommendations
- Inspection records and reporting
- Follow-up condition monitoring
Depending on the integrity requirements, the scope may cover an individual asset or several systems across a facility.
Risk-based inspection
Because the probability and consequence of failure differ across plant equipment, inspection effort must be allocated according to the risk associated with each asset.
RSC supports risk-based inspection programmes using available condition information and previous inspection results. Known damage mechanisms and the operating duty of the equipment are included in the assessment.
The resulting priorities guide inspection planning and help determine where detailed examination is required. An appropriate monitoring schedule can then be established for the remaining equipment.
Corrosion management
When corrosion is identified, the visible damage does not always reveal its source or full extent. Understanding how the deterioration is developing helps determine the maintenance response.
RSC examines protective coatings and exposed substrates for evidence of corrosion. Where corrosion under insulation is suspected, the assessment can extend beneath insulation or cladding systems.
Findings may result in a localised repair or the reinstatement of protective coatings. Extensive deterioration may call for a wider corrosion protection scope.
As RSC also delivers industrial maintenance services, integrity findings can be translated into practical repair work without losing continuity between assessment and execution.
Converting findings into maintenance action
For inspection information to support decision-making, defects must be recorded in a way that shows their location and extent. RSC uses this information to prioritise the required work according to asset condition and operational importance.
Where repairs are needed, the scope may include access provision and surface preparation before the specified maintenance work is completed. Follow-up inspection can confirm the repair and create an updated condition record for future monitoring.
Plan your asset integrity programme
Need asset integrity services to establish asset condition or turn inspection findings into a practical maintenance plan?
RSC Group can develop an asset integrity management scope around the facility’s operating requirements.
